Indie's Reflection:

"Reading is ok - but I'm not a big fan of it.  My big sister Tayla helps me with the words sometimes.  I like reading chapter books from the library - I've got heaps at home."

Showcase - Wheels Day

On Wednesday 22nd of August, the Year 2 children participated in Wheels Day. We were showcasing another way we could get to school in conjunction with our school Travelwise programme.

Maths - WALT identify 2D and 3D shapes

WAL about Geometry.

We have learnt that "Geometry" means shapes.  

We already knew a lot about 2D shapes so spent most of our time learning about 3D shapes.  We went on a shape treasure hunt around the school and took photo's of lots of different 3D shapes.  Some were easy to find and others were hard but it was lots of fun!  We made shape monsters using some of the shapes we had learnt about.

Indie's Reflection:

"I liked learning about 3D shapes.  I liked making my shape monster.  I made a circle shape monster.  I know that a circle as a 3D shape is called a ball or sphere.  The trapezoid was hard to find outside."

"I like Maths.  I like going on Mathletics Live and versing people.  I practised my basic facts for homework.  I am proud because I got 25 out of 30.  My family are proud of me."

Writing Reflection

I like to write about similes.

I am so proud when I achieve my goal.

The next step for me is to use more similes in my stories.
